Reading in Black and White Allah has blessed the Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) with a large number of Muslims. The existing masjid is well attended for all five daily prayers, and draws between 700 to 1000 worshipers on Fridays, well above the capacity of the current building. The numbers at Friday prayers are so great, in fact, that the weekly congregation regularly overflows into the parking lot. This poses a problem during inclement weather, especially during the winter months. But even these hardships do not stop many Muslims from coming to fill their hearts with the Love of Allah.

Since its inception, the ISB has also been one of the most active Islamic organizations in the Boston area. It has worked hard to educate and serve the Muslim community, offering classes in Tafseer, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh and a variety of other topics. Furthermore, the ISB draws together members of the Muslim community in a variety of social activities some geared towards brothers, some towards sisters and others towards families.

As a result of its past work, the area around the current masjid has become home to large numbers of Muslims, who have created a tightly-knit community of believers who support and encourage each other in the practice of their faith.
