Boston, The Heart of
Culture and Diversity

As a cultural center, Boston has few rivals. Boston's many great cultural institutions include its Museum of Fine Arts, Symphony Orchestra, Public Library, and Athenaeum.

Boston is also said to be one of America's most livable cities. Because of its size and concern for good urban planing, Boston has become America's Premier Walking City. A stroll through the city will bring you to neighborhoods so unique and varied, you will feel your short walk has brought you to another part of the world entirely.

Throughout its history, Boston's cultural landscape has been enriched by the many immigrants that have settled here as their entry point into America. In centuries past, it was the Italian, Irish and other communities that shaped Boston's neighborhoods. Today, many of the newcomers are Muslim, coming from places as far afield as Bosnia and Somalia. Each of these groups has left its mark on Boston's character, and the city has embraced each group as its own, accommodating their contributions into its common history and identity.

The ISBCC will be the next major contribution of Boston's Muslims to the great legacy of this city. It will be a monument to the great religion of Islam, and the heart of the communities that hope to live by its teachings.
